My patience with trade union leaders is running thin and the more I talk about it, the more I realise that more people than we realise are waiting for the unions to slip again to sound a very rude awakening for them. People like Ancel Roget, Vincent Cabrera and others are out there talking all sorts of battle talk and completely sidestepping real development issues. All they want is money. The unions' primary concern is money.
I am yet to hear any one of them talk about linking productivity to wage increases. Of course not, they won't dare do that because you'd probably find more than half of the people represented getting pay cuts rather than increases. The last report I heard, Roget was talking about preparing for a struggle against the Government. I would like to warn Roget that if he thinks he is going to pull another fuel shortage fiasco and get away with it as some kind of hero, he's in for a surprise.
I want to further warn Roget and his comrades that any attempt to disrupt our country and the struggle will be a national one against all of them. No one, not a single person in this country, will tolerate any move to create instability and shortages, Roget. Mark my words, your plans will backfire. Go ahead and see what happens.
