It appears that many people have been directing the Commissioner of Police, Mr Gibbs, as to how to do his work. I, now, also join into the fray. The public was made aware of the allegation that certain senior officers had been accepting inducements to fast-track Firearm Users Licenses.
Mr Gibbs replied that he could only act on definite information. Rather lame, in my opinion, as it should be simple to ascertain how many FULs were granted in 2010, and in 2011 to date and so on. Further, the number of requests on file can be easily checked. The investigation is straight-forward, no rocket science.
Over to you now Mr Gibbs and failing to act appears to be a dereliction of duty, what say you Prof Deosaran and the Police Service Commission.
