As a health and safety adviser, I cannot take making risk assessments for granted. The tragic events of Sunday in which people drowned shows that not everyone takes the time to do so however. I am not pointing any fingers or allocating blame for the tragic loss of life but just want to encourage my fellow Trinidadians to be a bit more careful and think through what they are doing before doing it. I am not suggesting taking a computer to every beach fete to do a risk assessment. Just take a second to think what could happen, take the necessary measures to mitigate this and we could have so many more people returning alive from the fun activities in which we Trinis like to partake.
