As a "Tri­ni to de bone," I would re­al­ly like to know why some peo­ple seem to be so up­set about the SOE and cur­few. Is it be­cause we can­not par­ty, can­not drag-race, or the fact that the idea did not come from the pre­vi­ous ad­min­is­tra­tion? What ex­act­ly is the prob­lem with this ini­tia­tive that has been put in place to try to get on top of the crime sit­u­a­tion? The last gov­ern­ment had many chances and failed to de­liv­er. One of the main rea­sons that the present gov­ern­ment was elect­ed by the ma­jor­i­ty was be­cause of the spi­ralling crime rate.

Some­thing dif­fer­ent has to be tried. This is the Gov­ern­ment's at­tempt at ac­com­plish­ing one of the main things that it was elect­ed to do. Do we need a SOE? Some say yes oth­ers say no.

Yes, there will be iso­lat­ed abus­es of pow­er by some rogue el­e­ments of the se­cu­ri­ty forces, but hope­ful­ly these will be dealt with in the ap­pro­pri­ate man­ner. Very of­ten it takes a bit­ter pill to cure the pa­tient. At the end of the day the pop­u­la­tion will de­cide if the ad­min­is­tra­tion failed or suc­ceed­ed, and if re­quired the elec­torate will take cor­rec­tive ac­tion at the next elec­tion. The re­stric­tion of move­ment be­cause of the cur­rent mea­sures means noth­ing to many peo­ple. Our free­dom has been in de­cline for the past 20 years, as the crim­i­nals en­joy in­creased free­dom. Try hav­ing your car shut down any night, any place, and see who comes along to help.
