Is CL Fi­nan­cial alone in its fi­nan­cial greed? Across busi­ness­es man­aged pri­vate­ly and pub­licly, across in­sti­tu­tions, greed is the cul­ture. While all of these rev­e­la­tions on the deal­ings of CL Fi­nan­cial are sur­fac­ing in­to the pub­lic sphere, hosts of oth­er pri­vate and pub­lic sec­tor com­pa­nies and in­sti­tu­tions are lav­ish­ly do­ing what is be­ing con­demned by the pub­lic con­cern­ing CL Fi­nan­cial.

CEOs, man­agers, ac­coun­tants, con­sul­tants, em­ploy­ees are cook­ing the books, util­is­ing all man­ner of fraud to en­rich them­selves at the ex­pense of oth­ers. What is be­ing done to stop these oth­er com­pa­nies and in­sti­tu­tions not un­der open pub­lic scruti­ny? I'll tell you what is be­ing done-not a damn thing. Greed ought to be treat­ed as if it were a com­mu­ni­ca­ble dis­ease. All of T&T's busi­ness and ser­vice in­sti­tu­tions ought to be un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion at this time. CL Fi­nan­cial pur­port­ed­ly rep­re­sents 25 per cent of T&T's GDP and is not an an­gel. In a fool's world the op­er­a­tions of the oth­er 75 per cent would be thought an an­gel­i­cal utopia. It is un­wise to hold that be­lief.
