I ap­plaud the Gov­ern­ment for fi­nal­ly clos­ing the loop­holes in the leg­is­la­tion to pre­vent the killing, har­poon­ing and sale of tur­tles, tur­tle meat and tur­tle eggs. Trinidad is in­cred­i­bly for­tu­nate to host nest­ing pop­u­la­tions of five of the sev­en species of ma­rine tur­tles in the world and al­so one of the largest nest­ing pop­u­la­tions of the crit­i­cal­ly en­dan­gered leather-back tur­tles. Fi­nal­ly, a gov­ern­ment that takes en­vi­ron­men­tal is­sues in­to ac­count. Keep up this pos­i­tive move­ment and the pro­tec­tion of our wildlife. The next step is en­forc­ing these laws-don't let us down.
