Still awaiting that pension increase
I, like many other retired police officers, am receiving far less than $3,000 a month. In September last year, the Prime Minister indicated that all retired government officers would be brought on par with others. After 12 months this has not happened. Other services have received theirs. Given the unit I served in on many occasions, when I left home for work I never thought I would have returned to my family due to the dangerous nature of the duties I had to perform.
I am convinced that I contributed more than what was required of me. I have numerous awards to support what I am saying. We are members of an ineffective T&T Retirees Association. I am asking the direct intervention of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance.
