Conrad Enill has inadvertently admitted that the PNM being in power is/was all about control of the Treasury so that they could "eat ah food," or, as an infamous PNM minister put it, "all ah we teef." Enill's admission of that surprised me, but I realised that truth about the PNM a long time ago when Eric Williams made it unofficial PNM policy. As forPatrick Manning, he is merely the latest in a succession of failures who led the PNM, starting with Williams and continuing with George Chambers. Manning and Chambers never had an original idea of their own but simply carried on with Williams' foolish policies, only much worse. Now they have another accidental leader, Keith Rowley, who is clueless about governance and will, as sure as day follows night, be worse than his three predecessor failures.
The PNM has never produced a carefully elected/selected leader after Williams. It is simply too incompetent to do that. The PNM put the country into economic and financial straits at least twice despite having huge amounts of revenue. That is what it does well. It has never rescued the country from economic and financial trouble. It has neither the will nor competence to do that. That is why the PNM can only be in power when the country has lots of money. If the majority of the people are ever foolish enough to allow about 200,000 greedy, selfish people to put PNM back in power, then they will deserve what they will get-Rowley and worse.
