Last year Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar was high in praise for the lo­cal fash­ion in­dus­try and gave the un­der­tak­ing that she will sup­port it where at all pos­si­ble. Tak­ing the PM's sup­port of the in­dus­try lit­er­al­ly, and not to be out­done, At­tor­ney Gen­er­al Anand Ram­lo­gan quick­ly jumped in­to the fray to keep the in­dus­try alive by putting "silk" high on the fash­ion agen­da. Well hot on his heels, and not want­i­ng to be left out, was Op­po­si­tion Leader Dr Kei­th Row­ley, who thought that his con­tri­bu­tion to this new fash­ion spree should be the "tie" is­sue.

AG Ram­lo­gan, in what he alone saw as a mas­ter stroke, quick­ly out­fit­ted him­self in a Chi­nese out­fit-in the style of Crouch­ing Tiger Hid­den Drag­on-and showed up in no oth­er place but the Sen­ate to prove once and for all that he is the "mas­ter de­sign­er." I take com­fort in know­ing that Car­ni­val is a few weeks off and the ole mas "done start."
