I com­mend the Cepep Com­pa­ny Ltd for its re­sponse to as­sist with clean-up op­er­a­tions at the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah where the Pano-ra­ma se­mi-fi­nals were held on Sun­day. Thou­sands of peo­ple who gath­ered at the Sa­van­nah left the sur­round­ing ar­eas in a to­tal mess. In­quiries re­vealed that an­oth­er com­pa­ny had the con­tract to do the clean-up but was un­able to ful­fil its du­ties. Cepep was con­tact­ed and its teams were on site from as ear­ly as 8 pm and they were still there when we left the Sa­van­nah af­ter mid­night.

We must be al­ways grate­ful to agen­cies like Cepep which are cham­pi­ons of our en­vi­ron­ment. At the same time, we should not take their work for grant­ed. We must do our best not to lit­ter as this pos­es great health risks to us and is al­so an eye­sore lo­cal­ly and in­ter­na­tion­al­ly. Please try not to lit­ter this Car­ni­val.
