Panorama is as much a social event as it is a musical one. Ever since I can remember, the semi-final has been the place to meet and lime with friends and family, catch up with long-lost acquaintances, all the while experiencing some great music. The "Greens Party" is a fantastic addition to the atmosphere of Panorama. The sound problems last year could have easily been avoided by coordination of the various sound systems and the use of screens to keep "The Greens" patrons clued in to the action on stage. Further, in previous years there has always been a free flow of patrons from The Greens to the North Stand and vice-versa. It was a major error in judgment this year to separate the two and to attempt to control the flow of some 20,000 people through one narrow gate. We were very fortunate a major disaster leading to loss of life did not occur. Let's plan properly and keep the party in Panorama.
