In lay­man's terms, a vote of no con­fi­dence sug­gests that there is no as­sur­ance that the per­son can per­form his or her du­ties ef­fec­tive­ly. Op­po­si­tion Leader Dr Kei­th Row­ley has filed a mo­tion of no con­fi­dence in Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar. Po­lit­i­cal ob­servers say that while Row­ley is aware that the mo­tion will be com­fort­ably de­feat­ed in the Par­lia­ment giv­en the Gov­ern­ment's 29-12 ma­jor­i­ty, he sim­ply feels the Prime Min­is­ter does not have any con­trol over re­cent na­tion­al con­tro­ver­sies and is in over her head.

The re­al prob­lem here is that Row­ley is afraid to ad­mit that we the peo­ple of T&T have lost all con­fi­dence in him as Op­po­si­tion Leader and as leader of the op­po­si­tion PNM. He is the one that is in over his head since he has no idea how to lead his par­ty. So that the PNM has con­tin­ued to fail this coun­try with its lack of trans­paren­cy and ac­count­abil­i­ty. May 24 will mark two years since we the peo­ple have demon­strat­ed that we have no con­fi­dence in the PNM, in­clud­ing Row­ley.
