US President Barack Obama has made an offer of US$30 million to fight crime in the region but I have seen no response to this offer by regional leaders. I venture to suggest that Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar should get together with the National Security Ministers of the other Caribbean countries and formulate a joint approach to confront the runaway crime situation which is dominating the national life of the citizens of the Caribbean basin.
This would be a wonderful opportunity to show that T&T is serious about solving the crime and illegal drug problem which threatens to submerge us. Action please, Madam Prime Minister.
