Open let­ter to Port-of-Spain May­or Louis Lee Sing: There is an in­ter­sec­tion in Wood­brook-the cor­ner of Ros­ali­no and War­ren Streets-that has be­come a safe­ty haz­ard and re­quires your at­ten­tion. First­ly, the de­ci­sion to make the in­ter­sec­tion a "dou­ble ma­jor road" by paint­ing white "stop" lines on each street is not work­ing, main­ly be­cause the lines are not vis­i­ble due to wear and ero­sion. Sec­ond­ly, the "stop at ma­jor road" sign (as is the case with many of our road signs) is not strate­gi­cal­ly lo­cat­ed. You know Tri­nis, Mr May­or, it has to be an "in your face" big sign for some of them to see it. I sug­gest that apart from re­paint­ing the white lines pe­ri­od­i­cal­ly, you put a flash­ing "stop" sign over­hang­ing the cor­ner of the street des­ig­nat­ed to be the mi­nor street. This in­ter­sec­tion has had sev­er­al col­li­sions and will con­tin­ue to have if some­thing is not done AS­AP. Maybe your traf­fic plan has tak­en this in­ter­sec­tion in­to ac­count. If not then you may need to go back to the draw­ing board.
