Hopefully, best team will now be chosen

What welcome news it is that Chris Gayle has been included in the West Indies limited overs series against England later this month. I have to congratulate the Prime Ministers of St Lucia and Antigua-Barbuda for bringing together the WI Cricket Board officials for discussions on West Indian cricket. For far too long the best cricket team to represent the region was not being selected.

 

Hopefully, now that the storm has passed, the board, and by extension the selectors, will see the wisdom in selecting the best possible players to represent us, and will put aside all past issues in order to move forward with haste. Welcome back also to Lendl Simmons and the in-form Dwayne Smith. And I have great expectations that Sunil Narine will do well in the circumstances.
