I have a slightly different take on the Denesh Ramdin affair. Personally, I would not have done it myself but there are two important factors here. The written message itself was quite benign and Sir Vivian Rich-ards had been virally critical of Ramdin earlier in the series. Additionally, Richards himself once stormed into the press box in Antigua in search of a foreign journalist with whom he was upset. Have we conveniently forgotten about that incident?
Then there is Michael Holding. Once again he held himself up as an angel of virtue saying he would never do something stupid like that because he lives by his principles and his children and grandchildren will also live by these princi- ples. Well, please tell us, Mikey, which one of these lofty principles allowed you to kick down the stumps in New Zealand in 1981?
