I have three concerns that I need to get off my chest. The first happened on Friday when a co-worker was hit by a vehicle in front our office on St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain. The police were there immediately and summoned the ambulance which took over an hour to respond. I find this totally unacceptable. The second involves the Aussie V8 interceptors that were ordered for the Highway Patrol, specifically for high-speed pursuits and patrols on the highways. Instead, they are being used by police to drive round Port-of-Spain on errands etc. My third concern is the abuse of sirens and breaking of traffic lights and major roads by police when there is traffic and no emergency. Numerous complain have been made but the abuse continues.
