As a PP coun­cil­lor in the Port-of-Spain City Cor­po­ra­tion, I am call­ing on all in­volved in the pro­posed traf­fic plan to hold a meet­ing as soon as pos­si­ble with cit­i­zens of St James and Wood­brook. There is a great deal of op­po­si­tion to the planned changes and I feel the con­cerns should be ad­dressed be­fore im­ple­men­ta­tion of the changes.

Burgess­es are against the dras­tic changes soon to come in­to ef­fect and are will­ing to stage a full protest against the plan. Some of the ma­jor is­sues they want ad­dressed are: ef­fects on com­muters and busi­ness­es, heav­ier traf­fic flow on the main roads and back roads, safe­ty to com­muters, cul­tur­al im­pact on St James and Wood­brook, prop­er­ty in­vest­ments, taxi routes and fares. I am plead­ing for this sit­u­a­tion to be dealt with be­fore it gets out of hand.
