The leak of the SEA re­sults not on­ly calls in­to ques­tion the va­lid­i­ty of those re­sults but un­der­mines pub­lic con­fi­dence in the in­tegri­ty of the han­dling of those very re­sults. In the face of such se­ri­ous and far-reach­ing con­se­quences, Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter Dr Tim Gopeesingh, in­stead of mak­ing spu­ri­ous al­le­ga­tions of po­lit­i­cal in­ter­fer­ence, should ex­am­ine his in­abil­i­ty to ef­fec­tive­ly and ef­fi­cient­ly man­age the op­er­a­tions of the min­istry.
