I would like the Min­is­ter of Food Pro­duc­tion, De­vant Ma­haraj, to look in­to the staff at the Hu­man Re­source Di­vi­sion, par­tic­u­lar­ly the Em­ploy­ees Re­la­tions Unit. When­ev­er re­tired staff mem­bers go to col­lect their cheques, the clerk re­spon­si­ble for hand­ing out those cheques is nev­er at her desk.

I stood there wait­ing on her and her su­per­vi­sor had to call oth­er de­part­ments to get her to re­turn to her desk. Ap­par­ent­ly she does not have much work to do. The blame for this should be placed square­ly on her su­per­vi­sor who al­lows her to dis­ap­pear at cru­cial times. How could this be al­lowed to con­tin­ue when there are peo­ple who are will­ing to work and not just col­lect a salary? Please Min­is­ter Ma­haraj, I am plead­ing with you to help the re­tired staff mem­bers of your min­istry to be able to get ser­vice at that par­tic­u­lar de­part­ment.
