I write to highlight an account of my flight on BW1515 from Tobago to Piarco on July 22. This was my second flight on one of the new ATR aircraft, my first being approximately one year earlier. My first experience was not good, bearing some similar traits to the second. My second experience was bordering on death-defying.
The aircraft seemed to be swaying from side to side while on the runway at ANR Robinson Airport. While climbing in the air it kept at an angle of about 40 degrees and seemed to be turning for the first five minutes of the flight, rocking and swaying at every correction by the pilot. After 15-20 minutes in the air, the ATR plane was literally slammed down onto the tarmac at Piarco Airport.
Everyone onboard seemed visibly disturbed by the landing and the overall flight. I call on the management of CAL to investigate this aircraft experience and determine whether it is an aircraft issue or flight deck issue. I am not an aviation expert but do fly frequently and can say this was my worst flight experience ever.
