Why is it in 2012 citizens from sister Caribbean territories are still having to go through the hassle of renewing passports every six months and facing deportation and such? In this century we should be embracing hardworking people who leave family and friends behind in search of better pay and adventure.
This shows a kind of enterprise, a kind of spirit which can help to develop T&T. There is beauty in diversity, so why can't we as Caribbean brothers and sisters embrace that? Why is it that after 13 plus years of living within the law in Trinidad and acquiring various assets, supporting local businesses, local government, one's self and family here and back home that someone must be handed deportation papers?
Please Immigration Department and powers that be, recognise that the majority of people from sister regional territories are here to simply improve their lives and in doing so they can also improve your country.
