What a fool­ish com­ment from Min­is­ter of Plan­ning Bhoe Tewarie to re­fer so dis­parag­ing­ly to the na­tion­al colours on buntings as 'just a piece of cloth.' Doesn't he ap­pre­ci­ate the sym­bol­isms of the na­tion­al colours? Al­so, why bas­tardize the Na­tion­al Flag by chang­ing the di­ag­o­nals to hor­i­zon­tals? Sure you could use the na­tion­al colours ar­tis­ti­cal­ly but you should go nowhere near any per­ceived repli­ca­tion of the Na­tion­al Flag.

Clear­ly, Dr Tewarie and his group are treat­ing our In­de­pen­dence cel­e­bra­tions so cav­a­lier­ly be­cause the PNM and Dr Williams must get a ma­jor fit in the cel­e­bra­tions for their out­stand­ing con­tri­bu­tion which will be em­bar­rass­ing to the UNC ef­forts to rewrite the his­to­ry of Trinidad and To­ba­go as the his­to­ry of Trinda­jibad.Sil­ly fel­low!
