Tuesday's Guardian quotes David Abdulah as stating that our diplomats are inexperienced for voting with Canada and the USA at an OAS meeting. Abdulah as usual is speaking from a 1960s perspective. These unionists are stuck in a time warp. Why must T&T have to automatically vote with any block? Are we so backward and stupid that we cannot come to our own conclusions on any issue?
Block voting has all but destroyed the UN. The Organisation of Islamic Conference (57) votes in a block and therefore distorts all UN resolutions for forcing a vote against Israel for the death of one Palestinian, but refuses to allow any resolutions on the murder of hundreds of thousands of black Africans in South Sudan by Muslims from North Sudan.
And Abdulah says we must vote en block? Give me a break, David. I hold no brief for the British. And I think that the violation of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London would be a mistake. But I think it is insulting to the literate citizens of this country to have to follow the pack of jokers in the likes of Chavez, Ortega, Correa and others.
