Trinidad and Tobago athletics continue to be plagued by bad decisions from the officials. Four medals, we thank you Jesus but because of poor administration that was all we got, we could have gotten more. Why was Sorillo allowed to run the one and two hundred? Yes, we know the choice was his to make but I think taxpayers paid enough to get these high-paying officials there so that they can "advise" and "assist" in making proper choices. Why was Kelly-Ann Baptiste placed at second leg? Any schoolchild knows that you will either place your fastest runner to start or anchor the relay. Again, lack of proper administration. Why did they leave out one of T&T's best young relay achievers? They leave out one of the best T&T young relay achievers for a last-place finisher at the Senior Champs.
It is like replacing a raging bull with a dead horse and might I add here, we could of gotten our first gold at the games if Machel Cedenio was given the opportunity to run a leg in that 4x400 relay Again, poor administration. Please officials, if an athlete cannot pass the baton he should not be in the relay. How many times are we to endure our most senior 200-metre runner fumble with the baton? Again, administration to blame. If he cannot pass the baton he should not be in the relay. Let him run an individual. It is not about winning a medal, it is all about participation. Thank you, Keshorn Walcott, for being a shining light at the end of the tunnel, you were able to gain gold simply because you were allowed to do your stuff without those blunderers at your side. I hope that committee will not be around in 2016 to make the same errors because trust me they will.
