Con­grat­u­la­tions to all the re­cip­i­ents of Na­tion­al Awards for their ser­vice, but dis­ap­point­ing­ly I thought I would have seen the names of Le­ston Paul, Anya Ay­oung Chee and Son­ny Fran­cois ( Mighty Pow­er) on the list. Mr Paul has, over a num­ber of years, giv­en us some of the best mu­sic this coun­try has ever pro­duced be­ing the per­son be­hind the mu­sic for such greats as Kitch­en­er, Spar­row, Mer­chant, Baron, Ar­row, Scrunter and so many, many more. Anya Ay­oung Chee for her con­tri­bu­tion to fash­ion de­sign and al­so putting T&T on the fash­ion map when she won the Project Run­way show be­fore the eyes of the world; and the late Son­ny Fran­cois (Mighty Pow­er) for his con­tri­bu­tion to the true ca­lyp­so art form.
