When I reviewed the hullabaloo created by the deletion of section 34 and the unrighteous indignation of the PNM, I began to think about it from the angle of the local political scene. And the question arose as to why did the Opposition vote with the government in the support of the bill, including Section 34. Has the population stopped to consider that not only the two UNC financiers but the whole lot of PNM people connected with the CLICO and CL financial collapse would also go free.
The ongoing inquiry has been revealing all the people connected with the affair. They would go free and be absolved of any wrongdoing. Therefore, the entire inquiry would have been a waste of time and a huge amount of taxpayers' money. So wake up folks and smell the coffee, the PNM has a lot to lose by the deletion of the Section 34, so their unrighteous indignation is another demonstration of their hypocrisy. I am therefore happy section 34 has been deleted, so let us move on.
