I live along Montrose Main Road, Chaguanas and there is a bar opposite to me, located on Lange Street, that has been causing severe distress to my family and I since its opening in 2010. I have complained of the noise levels to the police and the EMA on numerous occasions. When the police come they stay in the bar, lime a little and the volume is turned down. When they leave, however, the nuisance of the noise levels resume.
In addition to the excessive noise, people often lime outside the bar, right outside my bedroom window, using loud obscene language, break out in fights, block my driveway, litter beer bottles on my property and urinate on my gate-posts. The noise from the music starts around midnight and goes until after 7 am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
As I said before, numerous reports were made so how is it be possible for this nonsense to just continue? The EMA needs to come clean on what their policies are for enforcing adherence to noise pollution rules and the implications for those who are in contravention of same. I would like the authorities to take serious action with respect to this bar. I would also like the mayor of Chaguanas and my Member of Parliament to please look into this matter seriously.
