I live along Mon­trose Main Road, Ch­agua­nas and there is a bar op­po­site to me, lo­cat­ed on Lange Street, that has been caus­ing se­vere dis­tress to my fam­i­ly and I since its open­ing in 2010. I have com­plained of the noise lev­els to the po­lice and the EMA on nu­mer­ous oc­ca­sions. When the po­lice come they stay in the bar, lime a lit­tle and the vol­ume is turned down. When they leave, how­ev­er, the nui­sance of the noise lev­els re­sume.

In ad­di­tion to the ex­ces­sive noise, peo­ple of­ten lime out­side the bar, right out­side my bed­room win­dow, us­ing loud ob­scene lan­guage, break out in fights, block my dri­ve­way, lit­ter beer bot­tles on my prop­er­ty and uri­nate on my gate-posts. The noise from the mu­sic starts around mid­night and goes un­til af­ter 7 am on Sat­ur­day and Sun­day morn­ings.

As I said be­fore, nu­mer­ous re­ports were made so how is it be pos­si­ble for this non­sense to just con­tin­ue? The EMA needs to come clean on what their poli­cies are for en­forc­ing ad­her­ence to noise pol­lu­tion rules and the im­pli­ca­tions for those who are in con­tra­ven­tion of same. I would like the au­thor­i­ties to take se­ri­ous ac­tion with re­spect to this bar. I would al­so like the may­or of Ch­agua­nas and my Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment to please look in­to this mat­ter se­ri­ous­ly.
