Farewell, Bertie Fraser
Not a drum was heard, not a funeral note, from Pantrinbago nor the PNM for Bertie Alonzo Fraser who was buried on October 6, after succumbing to cancer in Columbia, Maryland on September 27, 2012.
Fraser was a former president of Pan Trinbago and served the PNM as parliamentary representative for Tunapuna from 1976-1981. He was a parliamentary secretary. In 1965 he also had another first by graduating in company with Jack Warner, Allan Clovis, Felix Edinborough, Earl John, Monty Chapman and distinguished others, from the pioneer intake of student—teachers of the pre-service Mausica Teachers’ College.
On behalf of a negligent Pantrinbago and PNM, thank you Brother Bertie, for services rendered and may your soul rest in peace. To end on a pleasant note, congratulations to our esteemed warden at Mausica Teachers’ College the venerable Fitzjames Williams on being bestowed with a long overdue national award.
