In his email to Mr Dominic Kallipersad of TV6, private citizen Jamal Mohammed, a self-proclaimed insignificant Muslim coolie, disingenuously attempted to separate his private status from his public persona as Minister of Communication. He stated that "I will give my life for you to have the freedom to express yourself."
I, therefore, now expect Mr Mohammed to do the decent thing in the noble cause of freedom of the press and give his life. However, as a compassionate christian, I will make no such demand so that he can atone for his sins in this uncaring world. But the least he should do is to give up his public life as Minister of Communication, failing which, I call on the Honourable Prime Minister to gently push him over the ledge.
After all, Mr Mohammed's egregious act, though not unlawful, pales in comparison with the alleged misconduct of the fired former junior national security minister Collin Partap.
