The very poor turnout for both the COP internal elections and the recent PNM convention has taken place on the heels of the Section 34 fiasco. These events are living proof of the unsuitability of all of the traditional parties to either run the country or form the opposition.
The year 2015 will be upon us in quick time and what should the average citizen do at general election time if he/she is not satisfied with either the People's Partnership or the People's National Movement? Should we try to figure out which party is the least incompetent and corrupt and then vote for the lesser of the two evils?
I say it is time for the election and boundaries commission to give citizens the official option of voting for None of the Above or NOTA. Actually, if NOTA is a real option in 2015 it could spring a big surprise on both the PP and the PNM.
