I must express my utter dissatisfaction with an article published on the Web site of the Trinidad Guardian newspaper dated November 13.
The article headlined "CAL to the rescue of stranded travellers in Guyana" reports the action taken by Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) with respect to passengers' re-accommodation on flights to get to their original destination in light of the suspension of the licence of the airline with which they had booked their flights.
The article reads: "Meanwhile, CAL is running to the rescue of thousands of stranded New York-bound passengers in Guyana after EZjet, the airline they booked flights with, had its licence suspended. EZjet is a British budget airline and its licence was suspended over fees owed to its lease company, Swift Air."
This, simply put, is not true. EZjet is a Guyana-based low-fares airline. EasyJet is the British budget airline which the reporter mistakenly refers to. These mistakes compromise professional journalism, credibility and integrity.
