On December 4, between 3:15 pm and 5:30 pm, Synergy TV blasted, yet again. This is the second or third week of loud speakers on the pavement in front of the business on Ariapita Avenue, Port-of-Spain (we have it recorded). There were two staff with microphones and a cameraman on the pavement interrupting the flow of traffic and pedestrians.
The noise level was unbearable. Surely this act is illegal. The Woodbrook Police were contacted and promised to patrol but never did. We contacted them half an hour or so later and they said they never knew about the previous call and that EMA and City Hall were the right people to deal with it; they can't do anything.
We have contacted the Woodbrook Police Station over the past five years complaining about noise. After we got this reply from the Woodbrook Police Station, we contacted Ag Inspector Blake who acted on the complaint and spoke to the manager at the TV station that time. We have complained to the Mayor, EMA and police about the noise emanating from the TV station.
If businesses can break the law, how can you expect a decrease in crime? This seems to be a regular event being filmed and hosted on a public pavement.
