So now we are back to blocking roads and burning tyres. And the politicians hurriedly rush to the scene of the action making promises to correct the problems as soon as possible. There is no vilification of the protestors nor threats of arrest, far less to wish them dead. The protestors have legitimate grouses and have learnt from the experience of Dr Kublalsingh that peaceful protest only earns you hatred and venom.
If you want the politicians to act, and act quickly, the thing to do is burn tyres and block roads. If you choose peaceful protest, like a hunger strike, you may end up dead before the politicians respond. The lesson is clear.
