I think it is absolutely disgusting that when one visits a government office in Trinidad there is usually nowhere to park because all the available spaces are occupied by employees of those offices, and usually there is a sign stating the parking is not for the public. Is the public that pays the taxes which in turn pay these selfish workers of no importance?
Why should government employees get priority parking for their vehicles? They are there to serve the public, not the other way around. In a private firm, customers get first call on parking, so why should a government office be any different? They are there to serve the public in exactly the same way a private company does.
This situation is utterly ridiculous, and it is time the Government issue a directive banning exclusive parking rights for employees, and allowing parking facilities to be used by all members of the public who have business with those offices.
