Why is the PP?gov­ern­ment so afraid of?Dr Row­ley? Al­most every­thing he says or does is now met with ven­om and crude per­son­al at­tacks from se­nior of­fi­cials of the cur­rent regime.

If he goes to the Di­vali Na­gar and wears a kur­ta, the Prime Min­is­ter her­self has to at­tack him for this. If he goes to the Debe mar­ket and buys some pro­duce, this is cause for an­oth­er round of scathing at­tacks.?When he at­tends the Mas­tana Ba­har as he has done in the past, an­oth­er se­nior cab­i­net min­is­ter has to heap scorn on him.

What are they so afraid of him??One min­is­ter keeps say­ing that Dr Row­ley will nev­er be Prime Min­is­ter yet when­ev­er he speaks he on­ly talks about the same Dr Row­ley. It seems as if the mere sight of Dr Row­ley caus­es gov­ern­ment min­is­ters to have sleep­less nights.

At the week­ly UNC fo­rums which are now be­ing staged in school class­rooms, Dr Row­ley is al­ways the main top­ic for dis­cus­sion and the at­tacks are al­ways per­son­al and abu­sive, even bor­der­ing on the ob­scene. Child­ish­ness is the or­der of the day at these meet­ings and the re­al is­sues are nev­er dis­cussed.

Has the Prime Min­is­ter be­come so in­se­cure that she has tak­en to lam­bast­ing her de­trac­tors on every oc­ca­sion in­clud­ing per­sons with­in her own gov­ern­ment? Every speech has the same theme-that she is un­der at­tack but she is strong, peo­ple are against her but she will not buck­le. It's al­most as if she was try­ing to con­vince her­self that she can with­stand the mount­ing pres­sure.

That would ex­plain the con­stant at­tacks on Dr?Row­ley be­cause more and more he is look­ing like the Prime Min­is­ter in wait­ing.

Even in Debe Dr Row­ley was warm­ly re­ceived by some res­i­dents and this seems to have sent shiv­ers through­out the PP gov­ern­ment. I live in cen­tral and I can as­sure you that the Op­po­si­tion Leader will be well-re­ceived when­ev­er he vis­its. To his cred­it, Dr Row­ley has not re­spond­ed in kind but has kept fo­cused on high­light­ing the is­sues of the day.

That is what he must keep do­ing be­cause he is look­ing like a true states­man. He must not de­scend in­to the gut­ter where oth­er politi­cians seem to be very com­fort­able and at home.
