I am writing to seek your assistance in highlighting the plight of residents of Williamsmith Mantacool Road where the authorities neglect to supply pipe-borne water.
I have been a resident in the area for the past six years. Residents are not provided with pipe-borne water for months on end.
The last supply of water was for one day two weeks before Christmas.
Tanks are empty and there seems to be discrimination with the truck-borne supply since many people are bypassed.
Letters have been sent to the member of parliment and councillor seeking assistance to no avail. Numerous calls have been made to the councillor for the area who acknowledges that there is a problem, raises such at council meetings but no redress is forthcoming. We are left at the mercy of the authorities like a forgotten people.
It is disheartening to see residents on the Naparima-Mayaro Road washing vehicles and premises while residents along Mantacool Road cannot get water to drink.
Please have a system whereby water is distributed equally to all residents.
I would be grateful if this could be highlighted to raise awareness of our situation; I have exhausted all other means.
