We now have further irrefutable proof that the EMA is a waste of taxpayers' money. A fete has been blasting in the St Ann's/Cascade neighbourhood since 5.30 this afternoon, February 6.A call to the EMA hotline at about 6 pm was answered by a very pleasant constable. A search of the EMA records could reveal no variation. Officers would be sent to investigate.
The officers must have gotten lost between St Clair and St Ann's as the noise has continued unabated. It is now 10.44 pm. Calls to the EMA cellphone number went to voice mail. Calls to the landline went unanswered, although at times the phone would ring busy, indicating that it was probably in use by someone in the office.
So all the hoopla about the EMA monitoring noise levels at fetes this Carnival has just been meaningless rhetoric. So much for the EMA and its empty promises. The EMA should be disbanded and its officers given employment in Cepep or Colour Me Orange where they would actually be doing something of benefit to the environment.
