I go to a football game in Michigan, USA, park on the pristine grass fairway of a golf course, pull out a cooler, a barbecue pit, and party for the next four hours, before walking over to the game only ten minutes away with 110,000 spectators.
I go to a rugby game at St Mary's ground with 100 spectators and my car gets wrecked by the police.I go to run in the Savannah and my car gets locked in the car park at the zoo. I go to football and later cricket at the Queen's Park Oval and my friends' cars are wrecked.
I complain in writing to the Minister of Sport, in my capacity as the secretary of a sporting organisation, and get no reply. Are the powers that be seriously concerned about sporting events and physical fitness in T&T, or is the mighty wrecker-dollar more important?
Ever wonder why on evenings there are so many cars parked on the grass verge at the bottom of Lady Chancellor hill, while the car park at the zoo is empty? Well, you have to pay $6 per hour, or part thereof, for one, which you don't always get a ticket and two, it's closed at 6 pm with a chain barrier.
How difficult would it be to leave the zoo car park open at night and allow us to park in George V for sporting events in the area?
