The Electoral College deserves the nation's congratulations on the selection of President-elect Carmona! In spite the opinions of legal luminaries, the issue of his residency, in my humble opinion, still hangs in the balance. No judgement by a court of law, has been made in this regard.
What if someone, at a later date, challenges his residential status at the time of his election and the matter reaches the Privy Council? What if the Privy Council rules in the challenger's favour? While I do not anticipate such an occurrence, it certainly is a possible "what if." Could this "what if" bring the government closer to accepting the Caribbean Court of Justice as T&T's final appellate court?
