The haste with which the Minister of Transport acted in reversing the St James/Woodbrook traffic plan seems to have left some unfortunate consequences. In reversing the traffic plan, someone forgot to replace the concrete barriers at the Gatacre Street and Wrightson Road junction (opposite the Licensing Office). This omission has had the result of an increase in traffic time of over 45 minutes in rush hour, just because of traffic pushing onto Wrightson Road from Gatacre Street.
Obviously, neither the minister nor his planning officers have to use Wrightson Road eastbound on a morning. On behalf of every voter in the western peninsula who use Wrightson Road on mornings, I appeal for this oversight to be rectified and the bottom of Gatacre Street once again closed off.
