I am a stu­dent in year 1 of the LLB pro­gramme and as part of my Com­mon Law Rea­son­ing In­sti­tu­tions course, I was try­ing to con­duct some re­search. I want­ed to at­tend the stake­hold­er con­sul­ta­tions be­ing held on con­sti­tu­tion­al re­form that are cur­rent­ly be­ing held by the Min­istry of Le­gal Af­fairs.

I looked at the full page colour ads put out in the news­pa­pers and, try as I may, I could not find the date or venue where these con­sul­ta­tions are go­ing to be held. All that was stat­ed in the ad was that be­gin­ning March 4, con­sul­ta­tions were go­ing to be held.I think that this is a to­tal waste of tax­pay­ers dol­lars. A full page ad in a news­pa­per cost thou­sands of dol­lars and Mr Ra­mad­har's Min­istry of Le­gal Af­fairs should not be en­gag­ing in wan­ton wastage like this.

I await an ex­pla­na­tion from the min­is­ter as to why the date was omit­ted from their ads. I al­so await an an­nounce­ment as to the ex­act de­tails of these con­sti­tu­tion­al re­form con­sul­ta­tions, the dates, times and venues.
