I am a student in year 1 of the LLB programme and as part of my Common Law Reasoning Institutions course, I was trying to conduct some research. I wanted to attend the stakeholder consultations being held on constitutional reform that are currently being held by the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
I looked at the full page colour ads put out in the newspapers and, try as I may, I could not find the date or venue where these consultations are going to be held. All that was stated in the ad was that beginning March 4, consultations were going to be held.I think that this is a total waste of taxpayers dollars. A full page ad in a newspaper cost thousands of dollars and Mr Ramadhar's Ministry of Legal Affairs should not be engaging in wanton wastage like this.
I await an explanation from the minister as to why the date was omitted from their ads. I also await an announcement as to the exact details of these constitutional reform consultations, the dates, times and venues.
