It's Holy/Holi Week, depending on which major religious persuasion you are. Besides Mr Baldeosingh, nearly all of us citizens are sincerely framing ourselves along fervent lines for Good Friday, Easter and Phagwa. So, why am I here, in the comfort of my home with my family, 50 minutes into the primetime nightly news, but being bombarded by scantily-clad women gyrating wildly in glorification of rum ads?
Why are alcoholic beverages allowed to be advertised in the first place?Which is good or worse for our society's well-being: tobacco, alcohol, or respect for the auspicious double season of devotion? When will our media houses step up to the plate?
