Our Constitution states that one of our basic principles of our nation is founded upon the supremacy of God. Many other nations of the world also acknowledge this principle. Our Constitution is now up for public discussion and one of the comments made by a fellow citizen is that the Constitution should leave out this principle.
The reason given was that not all of our citizens believe in the existence of God. He is one of a few people, less than one per cent, who share this view. In reality, most citizens do believe in the existence of God and acknowledge his supremacy in their life and in the life of our nation.
As a citizen of this nation, I say to myself: "Why shouldn't I acknowledge the supremacy of God when it is he who made me and to him do I return?" Let's retain this principle in our Constitution and other citizens should also express their views concerning it.
