Congratulations must go out to St James the Just Anglican Church of Sangre Grande for the two projects in which they led from the forefront on behalf of the North Eastern Regional Council.Firstly, on March 12, they hosted a Lenten Caravan at the Monte Cristo Park where a massive crowd gathered in a mission service and at which scripture readings and songs of praise were evident as the Bishop Calvin Bess spoke about the new vineyard and dealt with current issues facing the society.
Secondly, the St James the Just Anglican Church was the host parish at the North Eastern Regional Council Family Day held on April 7, at North Eastern College.Besides the service held at the location there were other events such as Easter Bonnet Parade by young girls and boys as youth and elderly enjoyed a day of bonding and relaxation.
In these troubled times where crime is rampant and other challenges attempt to eat away at the fabric of society it is encouraging to witness St James the Just Anglican Church being a leading light in restoring faith in the communities.
