CADVA (The Caribbean American Domestic Violence Awareness Group) is conducting a survey on the attitudes of Caribbeans towards the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community. This survey is a buildup towards a series of initiatives planned for the summer of 2014 to include a Caribbean regional wide conference on youth violence and a workshop on domestic violence.
CADVA is appealing to readers of your newspaper to log on to the Web site and fill out the survey. The survey can be accessed at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1OtMrzbnIv8b0VcPgGGbfeJQVdvn42D_nVCVlAbugYx8/viewform?pli=1 and takes about ten minutes to fill complete.
Founded by domestic violence survivor, Sukree Boodram, CADVA has been involved in an ongoing campaign against all forms of violence in both the Caribbean and North America. Previous activities have included a successful rally–Break the Silence–in 2010 and the highly accomplished International Youth Conference in Guyana last year. This year CADVA's activities will be conducted in T&T and Haiti.
For the 2014 initiatives, CADVA is inviting entities and individuals interested in collaborating or partnering to contact CADVA at help@cadva.org. Individuals and organisations are also invited to send ideas and suggestions.
