I am ap­peal­ing to Dr Wayne Kublals­ingh to lay down arms in the fight against the high­way.The rea­son for my ap­peal is the es­ca­lat­ing traf­fic woes suf­fered by south­ern­ers. Dr Kublals­ingh, I wish to in­form you that if a child has to at­tend school in San Fer­nan­do from Fyz­abad or Rous­si­lac, he/she must leave home at 6.15 am or be in the late line. A dis­tance of 10-15 km takes one and a half hours to com­mute. Please come to the south­land and see for your­self.

I have lis­tened over the years to ar­gu­ments on both sides and have con­clud­ed that the high­way de­ci­sion is a no-brain­er. I agree that there may be prop­er pro­ce­dures and rules which were not fol­lowed, how­ev­er you don't need an ex­pen­sive study to de­ter­mine the high­way is fea­si­ble, just like you don't need to a fea­si­bil­i­ty study to build a home for your fam­i­ly.

Now the high­way re-route move­ment and Dr Kublals­ingh is head­ing to court to stop the long over­due and vi­tal in­fra­struc­ture that will pos­i­tive­ly im­pact all south­ern­ers in a tan­gi­ble way in­clud­ing in­crease in their prop­er­ty val­ues.I am beg­ging you Dr Kublals­ingh, have mer­cy on us south­ern­ers, we de­serve this.
