Permit me to share a very distressing event with your readers. On Sunday June 16 at around 5 pm a WASA mains ruptured just outside my property at St Augustine.Water was gushing out and onto my premises threatening to flood out a ground-level apartment.I made one call to WASA and one to the hotline of the Office of Disaster Preparedness.
Within one hour a team was dispatched to rectify the problem. The officer at the ODPM called to inform that the emergency was being addressed and enquire if further assistance was required.A special thank you to the officers on call in these two utilities at that time. It was a first-world-level response.
