Grateful as sport returns to Diego Martin
A couple Sundays ago, I left home to go down to the Diego Martin North Savannah to watch football taking place. We have not had a football competition between the communities for so long, so it was very nice to see it had returned. When I got there, I was really happy to see the amount of people who came out to watch the games. It was my first time for the season, and I was amazed to see the size of the crowd rooting for their own team and just good football.
We didn’t have the ground for so many years, so I want to say thanks to the Minister of Sport and Sport Company for fixing the North Savannah and giving the youths a chance to play sport. The sport really brings the communities and the youth together and also keeps them out of trouble, so we are happy. There is more work to be done on the ground. We will need a pavilion and locker room facilities so that the teams can change and shower after the games.
For now, thanks to the authorities for bringing sport back to Diego.
