Is Jack sidelining Volney?
Herbert Volney despite his recent “hot mouthed” statements about challenging any move by government to remove him as MP for St Joseph, has suddenly accepted the inevitable. What leaves me quite curious is that there is no talk of having him contest the very seat for his new ILP comrades. In the wake of the famous march through the streets of St Joseph, reports flooded in about people’s lack of support for Volney who walked together with ILP leader Jack Warner in an effort to gather support.
As a matter of fact quite a large number of Volney’s constituents seem to be under the impression that he has neglected them, save for a tiny portion of his most loyal supporters (who may be friends and family of the politician). I just wonder if Jack Warner will sideline Volney as he had done before, in order to lessen the damage to his newlyformed party. As for the constituents, I wonder if they are prepared to have Volney or another ILP person with a track record of unpopularity, represent their needs and interests in the Parliament.
